Games Galore!

Generosity of local businesses and community!

The Lunch Club members have been showered with kindness already this year and the start of 2022 has been great for us.  Our local community have given us some donations which have enabled us to buy some new games and resources that we can enjoy in our weekly sessions together.  Particular thanks go to:

* 501 Reasons

* Dawleys

* The Property Hub

* Ideal Homes, Ross

*Over 20 individual members of our community who have donated items

We have been able to buy playing card sets, draughts, dominoes, pens and pencils, art and craft materials, snakes and ladders, crossword and puzzle books, jigsaws and we have brand new pretty tablecloths that were donated to us.

The group have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our community and are extremely grateful!

Back to Normal!

Covid can’t keep us down for long!

Two members of the group tested positive for covid. To safeguard everyone else, those in close contact were advised to get PCR tests and every member was contacted by telephone by the group leader.   As part of our covid-secure procedure, to keep everyone safe and to prevent an outbreak within the group, we decided a 2 week circuit breaker was needed.  Now we are all back and fighting fit!

That is a Full House!

The lunch club was bequeathed a wonderful gift from the Stonage family in memory of our beloved member, Arthur Stonage, who sadly passed away earlier this year. Arthur wanted us to have a lasting memory and his wonderful family chose to buy us a brand new electronic bingo machine! This was presented to us by Arthur's son, Mike, and we all enjoyed Mike hosting our very first bingo game! A HUGE thank you to the Stonage family and, from now on, the number 38 will be known to us as
"Arthur's Gate!"

The Friday Lunch Club Reunites!

The Friday Lunch Club members were reunited on Friday 2nd July after 16 months of being apart. Current members were able to meet in person and we also welcomed a whole host of new members who were ready to make new friends and enjoy companionship, TLC and a good game of bingo! A fantastic afternoon was had by all and it was so wonderful to have us altogether once again!

Rosemary

The wonderfully eloquent, stoic and formidable Rosemary Rigby MBE is “hanging up her boots” for a while and will be spending some time at home away from our Friday sessions for the foreseeable future. She will be working hard from home organising our volunteers and arranging the minibus as usual whilst Sarah continues to lead the sessions at The Larruperz and offer TLC to our Friday family each week. We will greatly miss seeing Rosemary on a Friday and we are hugely thankful for her input, drive and determination to help the group! We are arranging a collection to buy a gift for Rosemary so do let us know if you would like to make a contribution! Call Sarah on 07814624417.
